 When designing the our new store we wanted to make it unique. We wanted to construct a store especially for people interested in needlework and a common ground where such people could gather and relax. Inspired by some of the coziest coffee houses around, our architect designed several lounging areas into our floorplan. Simply put, you have several lounge areas in our store to knit, crochet, or needlepoint in all day long for FREE! To the right you will see one of our straight back sofas next to a fireplace. You and your friends can come by during our normal business hours to sip on tea, work on your projects, and have a great time. |
 In the picture on the left, you can see two of our friends Vivian and Darilyn. As Vivian states, both of them belong to a larger knitting group of friends who meet weekly in our store "to share their common love for knitting and laughter" . We have over 4,000 square feet of needlework area for you to enjoy in our store. You can simply come in to work on your project or shop or take a class. |
 We did not stop with just one lounge area. We have little nooks throughout the store. If you live in Houston you know during the spring and fall months the 70 degree humidity free weather here is gorgeous. To take take advantage of the weather we created two outdoor decks for you to enjoy. The lower deck is surrounded by landscape of plants and and a fountain. Working outdoor on your project while listening to the fountain water run is truly a refreshing experience. You can come by our store at any time to relax on our patio. |
| We have approximately five lounge and class areas on our first floor and even more upstairs. Below you will see an overhead picture of one of our knitting classrooms. The picture was taken from the second floor. The second floor floats over the first floor with open ends to look over. A floating second floor adds openess to the layout and even more uniqueness. The classroom is elevated one foot while a large three point window borders the east corner. |

| You can swing by our store Monday through Friday from 10-5pm central time to enjoy your needlework lounge. On Saturday, our store is open from 10-4pm. If you plan on bringing a group of over 8 people and need large table, please give us a call in advance so we can reserve one for your group. Lastly, remember we built these lounge areas especially for needlworkers and lounging at Merribees is absolutely FREE! |
